Roadrunner Cares
Roadrunner Cares is a referral process to connect students to supportive services. Staff and faculty can use Roadrunner Cares when they believe a student has urgent personal concerns that are out of the ordinary and might prevent the student from being successful at Butte College.
Our Mission:
- To increase student retention and sucess by providing resources to address barriers.
- To educate and inform staff and faculty on the purpose of Roadrunner Cares including hosting information sessions and/or attending staff/faculty meetings
The Team:
The Roadrunner Cares team consists of 3 case managers from the following areas: Basic Needs, Back on Track, and Mental Health. Our goal is:
- To contact and connect the student to various on campus/off campus resources
- To create an action plan with the student to guide them in the direction that will best suit their educational success
- To provide interdepartmental case management as appropriate
Steps to refer a student:
- Step I. Create a referral using the Report It.
- Step II. Advise the student that they will receive a follow up email and/or phone call following up about their situation.
- Step III. The Roadrunner Cares team will make all attempts to initiate contact with the student and arrange a referral to the appropriate student services or community resource.
The mission of Roadrunner Cares is:
- To increase student retention and success through educating faculty and staff about how to use the Roadrunner Cares referral process.
- To assist students in finding on-campus and off-campus resources that aid in student success.
